2026-09: the full redesign

The site's Blocks, design tokens and docs were reworked together. This entry lists what changed, and the last section lists what an existing site's content will notice.

New Blocks

• FeatureRows: three full-width rows, each with a numbered title, a short body and an optional text link.
• PreviewStage: a heading and lede above an illustration of the site being edited in place.
• FeaturedQuote: one large quote with a person, and an optional company drawn beside it.

Redesigned Blocks

• Hero, with a new showcase variant: copy above a textured band carrying a floating prompt card.
• LogoCloud, now a bordered ledger.
• Stats, now a ledger with an optional meter under each figure.
• Testimonial, with an optional featured quote and a highlighted phrase per quote.
• PostGrid and the /blog index, now cards with a cover image.
• CTA, on the dark textured band.
• ImageCards, in the same framed card PostGrid uses.
• Newsletter, on the textured band.
• Faq, using the browser's native disclosure, with an opening animation.
• FeatureGrid, a numbered ledger grid.
• FeatureSplit, with a framed image on a textured bed.
• Comparison, with a stacked layout on a phone.
• Gallery, three even rows of frames.
• Team, a ledger grid of portraits.
• Pricing, a ruled ledger of plans.

System

• Eyebrows: the small label above a section title used to be ruled out, and is now part of the system. Most Blocks take an optional eyebrow.
• The type roles: each piece of text has a named role instead of a one-off size.
• New ledger, mock and subtle tokens in the design tokens file.
• The texture: GridField, the band fit, and the mirrored still.
• Shared ledger parts, so every ledger Block draws its rules and cells the same way.

Content and props authors need to know about

• eyebrow is available on sixteen Blocks.
• Comparison takes labels for its two columns: usLabel and traditionalLabel.
• Faq takes an optional contact link for anyone whose question is not listed.
• Pricing takes at most 4 plans.
• The home page has a new composition.

Docs

• The design-a-block skill was rewritten.
• The compose-page skill was updated.
• The /style-guide page was rewritten.

Breaking or behavioural changes

• Pricing accepts at most 4 plans. A page with 5 or more plans fails the build.
• LogoCloud now requires eyebrow. A page that uses LogoCloud without it fails the build.
• LogoCloud no longer has a lede prop. Text passed as lede is ignored, so move it to eyebrow or meta.
• Hero's default variant is now showcase. A Hero that sets no variant used to render as centered, so set variant="centered" to keep the old look.
• Hero's title is now optional.
• Testimonial and Faq keep their old props. Both now draw differently, and Faq shows its first answer open.
• FeatureGrid and Team pad a short last row with empty cells. Use a multiple of 3 items.
• Gallery puts the 1st, 6th, 7th and 8th images in the wide slots, so the order of images matters.
